Brisbane is a river city and the capital of Queensland. It is situated close to the Gold and Sunshine coasts and boasts safe and clean public transport.
Practice your English speaking and have fun at the same time. You will learn how to use digital cameras to take stunning photos and fascinating films to document your experiences. Our study tour will take you to Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo where you can get up close with native kangaroos and other Australian wildlife.
Photograph tigers, hand-feed elephants and watch the amazing crocodile shows. Cruise Brisbane river and add modern city architecture to your portfolio of photographs. You’ll visit Seaworld on the Gold Coast and if you’re lucky, be chosen to be kissed by a sealion! You’ll learn the tips and tricks used by professional filmmakers and then visit Movieworld where blockbusters such as Thor: Ragnarok, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Aquaman have been filmed.

Students will learn how to creatively use the functions of a DSLR camera, control exposure in various light conditions, focal length/perspective, depth of field, ISO, white balance and the aperture/shutter relationship. How to creatively compose your photograph by using the rule of thirds and other concepts will also be discussed.
Learn how to create digital video content for the big and small screens - how to record video and sound on location, edit sequences and add audio tracks, to colour correction, adding visual effects and titles to your productions.
Classes on campus will cover the basics of filmmaking and photography. We’ll provide students with access to professional photographic equipment and studio space with green screen for keying and compositing. Students will use industry standard software for editing photographs and videos. Students will be encouraged to distribute their work across social media including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram so they can share their experiences and newly developed skills with friends and family back home.
For students interested in pursuing further study, this study tour provides an introduction to a rapidly growing and in-demand sector of the digital economy.
