Do you have a compassionate nature and good people skills? These courses prepare you for work in the community and/or a residential setting, with the elderly or disabled. The courses have been designed in consultation with industry and includes both theory and hands-on learning.
You will learn to communicate and work in health or community services, provide individualised support, recognise healthy body systems, work with diverse people, support independence and wellbeing, follow safe work practices, work legally and ethically.
These courses are offered as full-time courses and cover both the ageing and disability streams. The traineeship format offers the home and community care specialisation.
Working in individual support and aged community care services can be an incredibly rewarding work experience and with this qualification you will be sought after within the industry. Job opportunities are high and employment for aged and disability carers is expected to grow strongly over the next five years. You will have the skills to provide individualised care to those who require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.
CHC43015 - Certificate IV in Ageing SupportThe Cert IV in Ageing Support will give you the skills needed to coordinate person-centred services for older people, provide support to people living with dementia and assist people with medication. You will also learn how to provide support services using a palliative approach, and to people living with chronic diseases. Our highly experienced teaching team of Aged and Community Care specialists provide one-on-one guidance and support you every step of the way to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the field. 
Course RequirementsTo be awarded a Certificate IV in Ageing Support, competency must be achieved in eighteen (18) units of competency. CHC33015 - Certificate III in Individual SupportThe Cert III in Individual Support (Ageing) is ideal for those wanting to develop their career in the aged and community care industry by gaining the latest nationally accredited qualification for care givers and support workers. The Individual Support course in Ageing will certify that you have the essential skills and knowledge required to provide support to seniors and the elderly.
Course RequirementsTo be awarded a Certificate III in Individual Support, competency must be achieved in thirteen (13) units of competency.
